Autodesk Subscription Important Update

Autodesk has recently announced that they are retiring multi-user subscriptions & network maintenance seats.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 virus, Autodesk has decided to postpone the changes for multi-user subscriptions to 7th August 2020.

Autodesk will extend the ability to purchase new multi-user subscription plans to August 7, 2020, and move their retirement to August 7, 2021.

While Autodesk had communicated that they would begin transitioning customers to named users starting May 7, 2020, they do not want to introduce a change at a time when business-as-usual is hard enough.

New effective dates

August 7th, 2020 - Multi-user trade-in available at first renewal for multi-user subscriptions and network maintenance seats.

August 7th, 2020 - New multi-user subscriptions no longer for sale.

August 7th, 2021 - Multi-user subscriptions retire and can no longer be renewed.

Autodesk is retiring plans based on serial numbers and launching new plans based on people. The new plans will deliver you and your organisation many benefits now, and in the future, at a cost consistent with what you pay today.

What’s Retiring & When?

From 7th August 2020, subscription plans will be launched based on people for organisations of all sizes & begin retiring plans based on serial numbers.

This means transitioning multi-user subscriptions & network licencing to new named user plans. There will be significant benefits to this transition to named User, but most importantly the cost will be consistent with what you pay today!

New Trade-In Offers*

For customers who own a subscription with multi-user access or maintenance, at your first renewal after August 7th, 2020, you can transition to a plan for named users through trade-in offers that keep your costs consistent today and predictable to 2028*.

At first renewal, after August 7th, 2020,  for every one trade-in of multi-user subscription or network maintenance seat you get two Named subscriptions at similar pricing to what you are paying today per one existing seat.

For example, if you have 10 multi-user subscriptions, you can trade them in for 20 x named user subscriptions for 20 named users at a similar price to what you're paying today. Thereafter, you can renew seats at an ongoing discount to 2028.

Benefits of Named User Licencing

However, please note that the following is not changing:

16th April 2020 - last release and end of renewal of Design & Creation Suites

6th May 2020 - M2S (Move to Subscription) offer ends

7th May 2020 - Maintenance & M2S renewal prices increase by 20%
